Poem of the crossed path

I pledge allegiance to letting it be.
One family under the sky.
Woman, man, or anywhere along that spread,
walking forward under the dominion
(the command)
of an individual’s arrow pointing,
this way.
The yellow brick road of your soul.

I choose this,
And you do not,
And that is fine.
I pledge allegiance to your journey,
as much as mine,
the social contract,
(or my greatest hope)
:
that this big planet has the space,
the water
and the time
to let you walk your way
and let me walk mine
with a salute in passing
and no need for
gunshots.
